While attending the Dickgirl/Dumbdog show I decided to take the opportunity and approach Dickgirl aka Daisy for an interview.
I first asked it about what music was formative to it as well as what inspires it's current music: "I fucked around with electronic music early on and I was in a punk band in high school, it was more like noise rock, but we didn't know what noise rock was at the time. Afterwards I couldn't find any bandmates, so I went back to electronic music, and I found a lot of comfort in it"

It also went to state college and did "loosey-goosey academia" while pursuing music and trying to be an audio engineer, it also was able to learn a lot about music from different parts of the world. She was also able to find a place in electronic music where she could have fun with it instead of focusing on pure negative emotions "A lot of my current inspiration is music that allows you to find peace with your emotions and redirect the negative stuff. Not stuff the invalidates all that but laughs in the face of it and is like “Ha I'm still having fun bitch""
After talking about inspirations, I asked Daisy about it's recent album release and the cover art " Happy Tatz/Logan Kruidenier, they did the album art. I approached them with the prompt of a hyena, I want a hyena fursona and I want her to be exploring kink and like wild shit. I gave them a couple experiences I've had and gave them that overarching theme of feeling at home and finding things that feel good, about my body, the world and interacting with it socially."She says that the cover is the result of her work with Happy Tatz and that she is very happy with the album and that it's the first time it has released something without absolutely loathing it. She is really looking forward to the next thing though...
With the talk of fursonas I had to inquire more, "You mentioned your fursona, would you like to tell me about it?"
"Her name is Daisy, she/it pronouns, a little bit of a self-insert. I used to envision her as a small yeen, I mean she still has runt energy but like I've come to realize I don't connect with it in my head. I'm not small I'm 6'2, part of that was height dysphoria. At the end of the day, I'm slowly getting there, appreciating my own body. So yeah, taller yeen, she's rowdy, a spotted hyena, I don't know."
"She's fucking cool!"
"Yeah, well she's getting there, learning about herself."
To wrap things up, I asked about what may be in store in the future:
"Theres 3 shows coming up for this tour, there is a show on January 5th at the Wax Atlas with Dicqbeats, Phosphorrgirl and XenonChameleon. There are other shows but nothing really solid yet or anything I can announce."
