Bong Ross goes to DickGirl and Dumbdog @ The Crown

Deep in Baltimore Maryland, a wild night would unfold at The Crown. The lineup of Biocrust, Slippyman, Dumbdog, and DIckgirl promised chaos with each artist bringing their own flavor to the stage.

The evening kicked off with Biocrust, whose set was nothing short of mesmerizing. Mixing synth and noise, their performance was like soothing waves on the beach but if you went deeper into the ocean, you would be swept away by crashing waves. Their set escalated into the finale where they would use a small heart monitor to add their heartbeat into the percussion, along with the synths and shrill screams, providing a powerful performance.

Following Biocrust was Slippymudman whose set created a spark in the room, inviting everyone to dance. Her set of breakcore and adjacent genres woke up the crowd and got them all moving and pumped for the next performances.

DumbDog took things to a whole new level, armed with an assortment of electronics and instruments. Utilizing effect pedals and amplifying knives, they delivered an amazing harsh noise set. Dumdog wore a harness which they would hang amplifiers from during their set, becoming a walking wall of noise, bringing the sound directly to you.

Dickgirl hit the stage next. with its unique blend of electronic, industrial, and noise sounds. The performance was nothing short of a spectacle, with Dickgirl refusing to slow down or stay in one place. From front to back, through the crowd, and even climbing over tables, Dickgirls energy was transferable, and everyone felt its energy. It invited crowd participation in its set, even taking quick shots at billiards on the pool table in the back of the room during the performance.

The show was an amazing and unique experience, each artist bringing their own form of chaos for a beautiful wall of noise. It was a night that I will remember for years to come.
